KNOWLEDGE, ATIITUDE AND SOURCE OF INFORMATION ABOUT COVID-19 IN DISTRICT DIR UPPER

Abstract-

The current study include 627 peoples having different occupation including, students, doctors, teacher, farmer and labors. A well-descriptive questionnaire was constructed which contains 15 knowledge and 8 attitude items and 6 source of information was accomplished by all participants, the male respondent were 542/627, and female were 85/627. On the bases of age the respondent were classified into in three groups, 1 to 20 years, 20 to 40  years, and 40 to 60 years and above. With respect to occupation most of them respondents were education related 438/627, on other hand 72/627 were Health care worker, 14/627 were former  22/627 and others 81/627 including (businessmen’s, housewives, police, government employers, security forces etc.). Healthcare workers, labor, farmer, and remaining (59.48%) were jobless the mostly participants (97%) have good knowledge about COVID -19 while (3%) have poor knowledge regarding COVID -19. A bulky quantity of participants (97%) were aware about symptoms of COVID-19, 55.55% were aware of the availability of vaccines in the market, 99.88 % were confident that the isolation period for COVID-19 is 2 week. Majority all the participants were hopeful  that the government administration of Pakistan can control the epidemic and can win the combat against COVID -19 however more studies are required in the region as to aware the people about the epidemiology, clinical features, transmission and control of covid-19   According to source of information; mostly( 32.42%) people have doctors in family who provide information to his family while  the  (62.58%) have no doctors in family on other hand (75.80%)  have the facility of television and radio through which the watch and listening news regarding COVID -19 remaining( 24.19%) having no facility of television and radio some people use (70%)use Facebook and twitter  as a source of information for COVID 19 but (30%) lacking this  facility  up to only less amount such is (34.19% ) attained seminars and workshop for getting information about COVID 19 remaining (65.80%) not attained seminars and workshop majority (68.87%) read newspaper and magazine as a source of information and (31.12%) not. After this study we come to the conclusion that the viewpoint of the people of Dir Upper including, knowledge and sources of information regarding COVID-19 was of great concern in various regions.
